Our Tour of the Labor and Delivery Floor

Sunday evening, Steve and I had the pleasure of touring the hospital birthing center. I got to try out the bed, the bathroom, some needles, and drugs. They sure know how to make you feel at home. After suffering from a headache and vomiting for 24 hours plus, I decided I couldn't take the pain anymore. We checked into the ER because I was only looking for some pain relief and never expected to see the birth center. But of course, we were sent to labor & delivery. My poor husband was so nervous and stressed. I kept telling Steve it's not like we're having this baby today. I just need some relief and to check on our sweet little one. We spent about 6 hours at the hospital. You would think 2 doses of morphine would of killed this headache but no such luck. Oh well, at least the baby checked out fine and the nausea meds worked well. After a few rounds of fluids and some percocet, we were on our way. We had a wonderful nurse and our OB was even there. I bet that doesn't happen when we're ready to give birth. I still had a difficult time on Monday, the headache and vomiting reappeared. However, with the help of a blessing by Steve and dad, I was much better on Tuesday. I'm still feeling pretty weak but at least I can eat again.

I am so sorry Annmarie! I always loved when they would send me to L&D there was something comforting about laying there relaxing listening to your sweet baby's heart beat. Much better than the ER! I hope your headaches subside. I love the part about Steve! You guys are so cute. I think Pregnancy is just as hard on our wonderful husband''s because they care so much about us and feel so helpless. Thank goodness we have someone to get through it with and the end result is SO worth it!!
