I Love to See the Temple

As a child, I remember bringing pennies to church to help build this beautiful temple, I remember stopping by as it was being built, and I remember as an 8 year old going to the dedication. Now, 23 1/2 years later I have walked through its doors again, to be sealed to the man of my dreams and the sweet angel, I call my daughter, Kendall. I always knew this day would come and some may have doubted the possibility since Steve did not join the church until after our marriage. But I knew. However, I never thought about the possibility of our child being able to join us as well.

Friday afternoon we received our endowments and though it was overwhelming to take it all in, it was so peaceful. It was wonderful to be escorted by my parents. Unfortunately, only Alisa and Jacob were able to join us but we know that Alan, Aaron, Gordon, and their families were there in spirit. We were also joined by our Bishop and his wife, Margie and Jeremiah Banigan, and Jordan and Spencer Dixon. I was so excited to see Kendall that night because I knew she was joining us in the morning.

Saturday could not have been a more beautiful day. The temple grounds were in full bloom. Spring is my favorite time of year. Of course, the real beauty took place inside. It was so wonderful to sit in the Celestial Room while we waited to be sealed. The peace was so intense, I felt like I could reach out and touch it. Being sealed to Steve was such an amazing experience. But I think I can safely say that the best part was when Kendall came in. She truly was a angel, dressed in her white butterfly dress. It was so difficult not to cry hysterically when she arrived. She was so precious and did not even cry, in fact she was laughing and loved being the center of attention. I have to wonder if she was not just seeing our small group in the flesh but many angels attending from Heaven. We plan on remembering this day forever. Steve and Kendall, I love you so much.
